Hi, i read about your loss in a Belgian newspaper and know what you go through. I had a heavy decompression accident 24 years ago when we visited playa del carmen. Friday afternoon on our last dive i got into trouble and ended up with a deco type II in the hyperbaric centre of Cozumel. I wish you strength and hope you can pick up your life again soon. Yves

John, just watched your interview about you and Lindsay, moved me to tears...tragic story to lose the love of your life so soon after meeting but think if you'd never met, those memories wouldn't be there and that love that you shared will now last forever. Stay strong and be happy, maybe not now but soon, you seem like ordinarily you are a happy person and Lindsay was too so don't let her passing change you, she wouldn't want that I'm sure...best wishes from Ottawa

I came upon your story on Huffingtonpost and as someone who suffered a very similar loss I wanted to reach out to you to offer any sort of support that I can. In the six and a half years since my tragic day I've go through so many emotions, much as you will in your own time, and have come out a changed man. I have slowly put the pieces of my life back together, found love anew and hope, in time, you are able to as well. Yours/ours is a difficult journey and wish you strength and solace in the memories you have of your moments with Lindsey.

I lost my first husband on Sept 11th, 2002 and my fiancé on Nov 6th, 2010.
Both were sudden.
I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know that time really does heal all wounds, it will feel like an eternity and you will always re-visit it.... sometimes in anger... but mostly with gratefulness and fond memories. I would never change my life and the pain of losing 2 men that I loved beyond reason.... both were worth every tear shed for the memories I will have until my last day on earth.
I pray you find peace and the ability to move forward with you life.
